27, 2012 Thirty one residents were killed this Thursday in rural Damascus; Sbaineh5, Muaddamiyat Asham 4, Dareyya 3, Harasta 3, Rankoos 2, Douma 2, Misraba 2, Alhusseinieh 2, Qatana 2 and one victim in each of the following: Azzabadani, ‘Erbeen, Annabek, Madaya, Attal and Shab’aa. Sbaineh: A car bomb exploded in Annahr street (populated mostly by Palestinian refugees) killing and wounding at least 35 residents. Five residents were completely mutilated. Hosh Arab: Regime forces launched aerial bombardment on residential areas while gun battles took place near Jab’adeen battalion. As a result, a state of panic reigned in on the town. Atheiabieh and Alhusseinieh Refugee Camp: Two residents were killed during aerial bombardment with MiG fighter jets on residential areas while several others were wounded during systematic mortar shelling. Regime forces continued to besiege the area for 31 days in a row and deprive the residents from the most essential needs forcing bakeries and other businesses to close or stop production. Dareyya: Artillery and rocket shelling resumed against the city killing three residents and wounding several others. Assad forces dispatched more military reinforcements to the area in a new attempt to invade the city and the FSA managed to keep them at bay. Arrahman mosque was targeted during the shelling attacks. Azzabadani: Assad forces continued to launch shelling attacks on residential areas in an attempt to invade the city and the FSA managed to keep regime forces at bay for two days in a row. Additionally, FSA attacked forces stationed at Alkornish roadblock and destroyed their machinery. Anneshabieh: Warplanes targeted the town with cluster bombs and gunfire for five days in a row wounding residents; several are in critical condition. It is also being reported that several residents were killed during heavy artillery shelling on Anneshabieh farms. Misraba: Fierce aerial bombardment targeted heavily populated residential buildings located at the center of the town. Most outskirts’ residents fled their homes toward the center of Misraba as a result of the ongoing rocket and mortar shelling that began two months ago. Rankoos: Massive explosions rocked the town while artillery shelling targeted its center forming clouds of smoke above the hospital. Residents mobilized a demonstration after few months of being under tight control of Assad militias. ‘Erbeen: Aerial raids with MiG fighter jets targeted residential areas and caused colossal damage to buildings and infrastructure. Muaddamiyat Asham: The 4th division launched artillery shelling on residential areas. The shelling resumed during the evening hours. Shab’aa: Regime forces launched aerial bombardment with MiG fighter jets as well as fierce rocket shelling (for 27 days in a row) on the town starting the early morning hours. One resident was killed as a result. Saqba: Fierce rocket and mortar shelling targeted a school and residential areas wounding several residents, mostly children. Douma: Fiece rocket and mortar shelling. Alblalieh and Al’etaibeh: Heavy artillery shelling targeted residential areas. Evening Highlights: Assad forces launched fierce mortar and rocket shelling on Alghootah Asharquieh. The shelling targeted mainly Hamoria, Shab’aa, Deir Al’asafeer, Saqba, Douma and Rankoos farms.
