Thirty eight citizens, including women and children, were killed across the suburban area. Victims were killed by snipers, in extra judicial execution and during indiscriminate shelling attacks on residential areas. Dozens of civilians were also wounded. A new massacre came to light in Douma city as sixteen victims were handcuffed, slaughtered with knives by Al-Assad militias. The victims’ bodies were found in the surrounding farms, and some were already decomposing.
Dumair and Attal cities, declared disaster areas, witnessed a relatively quite day after several days of aerial bombardment and fierce artillery shelling. During the regime’s offensives on both cities, dozens of residents were killed by military forces, with shrapnel or suffocated to death under the rubble. In a new development, it was also reported that Al-Assad forces used fuel-air bombs during their shelling attacks in Dumair which caused an extensive damage in the residential structures; these bombs are know to destroy everything within 300 meters radius.
Meanwhile, Al-Assad militias stationed on rooftops and at security checkpoints opened fire on civilians, surrounded mosques and main squares, attacked homes and detained hundreds of peaceful civilians. Regime’s forces resumed the military activities as they launched artillery and mortar shelling attack on homes and flew warplanes overhead.
