Revolutionary Command Council in Damascus Suburb / Daily Report
Saturday, August 04, 2012
Thirty victims were killed in Damascus Suburbs on Saturday including two children and two women. Victims were killed by regime’s snipers and indiscriminate shelling on residential areas; however, a victim from Douma city was extra judicially executed by Al-Assad’s militias in Jobar. Furthermore, dozens of civilians, including women, children and even entire families, were wounded during the shelling attacks on homes; several are in critical condition.
Al-Assad’s snipers stationed on rooftops and at security checkpoints opened heavy and indiscriminate fire on homes and civilians in the streets mainly after sunset to prevent the people from going to pray in mosques or from demonstrating. The regime’s militias launched assault and detention raids on homes in search for activists and rebels and detained dozens of peaceful civilians; several civilians were also detained at security checkpoints. Heavily armed militias wandered the streets to terrorize civilians, confiscated homes from owners and destroyed properties. The regime’s army hurled bombs and launched indiscriminate shelling on the cities using mortar, artillery, tanks and helicopters. The shelling attacks targeted mosques, set homes on fire and triggered massive explosions.
